Our principles

HelpMeHowTo exists to give you quick, honest answers for everyday problems — without turning you into the product. These are the principles we try to build every page around. [oai_citation:5‡index.html](sediment://file_00000000e03471f7afa51e9d0fa02709)

  1. 1. Fast, no‑login tools

Every calculator and generator should work straight from the page load — no account, no email capture, no complicated flows. You arrive, enter a few fields, and get a result. That’s it. [oai_citation:6‡index.html](sediment://file_000000007ea071f7902178861b669a3b)

  2. 2. Respect your attention

Ads help keep the site free, but they shouldn’t make the tools unusable. We aim for a small number of ad slots in predictable places, and avoid full‑screen pop‑ups, autoplay video, or tricky “accidental click” layouts.

  3. 3. Privacy by default

Calculators run in your browser and don’t need personal account numbers or detailed medical information. When we do collect data — like optional feedback — it’s clearly labelled and used only to improve the site, not to build a profile about you.

  4. 4. Honest limits and disclaimers

A salary calculator is not a financial planner, a BMI tool is not a doctor, and a sick day email generator is not a lawyer or HR team. Each page includes plain‑language notes about what it can and cannot do, so you’re not misled about the results. [oai_citation:7‡index.html](sediment://file_00000000c66071f58572658885ca1d2a)

  5. 5. Useful over wordy

Explanations, FAQs and guides are there to clarify, not to rank with 2,000 words of fluff. If a concept needs more depth, we’ll add it — but the first priority is always a clean, usable tool.

  6. 6. Feedback is welcome, not mandatory

You can use the tools forever without giving feedback, and that’s fine. If you do want to help shape where things go next, there’s a simple box on the About page where you can send suggestions or bug reports without jumping through hoops.

Ad spot
A small, non‑intrusive ad can live here in the future. If we add affiliate links, they will be clearly marked so you know when a link might pay a commission.
