About HelpMeHowTo
HelpMeHowTo is a small collection of free one‑page tools for common “how do I…?” questions: sick day emails, salary ↔ hourly conversions, loan payoff, BMI, age math, and more.
What this site tries to do
- Turn repetitive tasks into quick calculators or generators.
- Explain what the numbers mean with short “how it works” sections instead of fluff.
- Load fast and stay readable on phones and laptops.
What this site isn’t
- Not medical, tax, legal, HR or investment advice.
- Not a replacement for a doctor, accountant, lawyer, HR team or lender.
- Every calculator is a rough estimate or template only, not a final decision.
You’ll see versions of these disclaimers on the individual tools so it’s hard to miss.
If a tool helped you, sharing a link is the easiest way to support it. Feedback and bug reports are also welcome.
How these tools are made
- Simple assumptions: Most tools aim for a “good enough” first estimate, not a perfect model.
- Transparent logic: Tool pages include formulas, examples, and common edge cases.
- Privacy‑friendly: Many tools run entirely in your browser so you can test scenarios without sending inputs to a server.
Accuracy and limitations
We try to keep tools correct and up to date, but real‑world rules vary. If a result looks wrong, check the assumptions on the page and verify with an official source.
What we’re building next
We expand the site based on user requests: more practical email templates, clearer money calculators, and short guides for common “how do I…?” problems.
Why the site exists
A lot of everyday “how do I…” questions shouldn’t require a spreadsheet, a login, or a 20‑minute video. The goal here is to make the first step easy: get a usable estimate, understand it, and move on.
How you can help
- Report confusing wording (tell us what you expected).
- Share edge cases (where the tool should behave differently).
- Suggest new tools (include example inputs/outputs).
How to support the project
The best way to support the site is to share links to tools and guides that helped you, and to send feedback when something is unclear. That helps prioritize improvements.
